The iTunes App store is full of lazy-cook, quick dinner fixes, but how often do you come across recipes taylor-made by some of the finest chefs in the world? The recently launched 42 Restaurants, an application developed for the iPhone, answers this demand. Home gourmets, professional chefs and lovers of amazing food worldwide will delight in the fact that, unlike most other food applications, the focus of 42 Restaurants is not on the quantity but the quality of recipes.

Restaurants from North and Central America, the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia contributed to this cookbook-meets-restaurant-guide. Each participating restaurant submitted up-to-date information and an exquisite recipe. Each recipe is presented with a unique design. With over 200 dazzling full screen photographs of dishes and dining halls the user is transported all over the world. Attention to detail makes this app one of the few in the App Store truly dedicated to creating a memorable visual experience. It is the Louvre of cookbooks.

The list of featured restaurants includes 40 Michelin Stars altogether. Many James Beard award winning chefs and restaurants listed in the S. Pellegrino list of World’s 50 and 100 best restaurants are also participating. St John Restaurant in London, Picholine in New York, Rockpool in Sydney and Schwarzwaldstube in the Black Forest are but a few of the internationally-acclaimed participants.

42 Restaurants makes optimal use of Apple’s intuitive methods of navigation – swiping, tapping and rotating the screen. Whether it is French Bubblegum Ice Cream, Venison Burgers, Caviar Parfait or Truffle Risotto, there is a detailed array of lavish options for any food enthusiast.

42 Restaurants is the creative passion of designer Margarét Grobler and developer Michael Gaylord, who’s small team has a good track record in web site and user interface design. For more information on this product visit www.42restaurants.com.
